Phase two of the NZ Film On Demand platform was launched earlier this month. Films can now be viewed in high definition (HD), purchased as well as rented, and stored in your online film library. There have also been some design improvements, security updates and bug fixes.

A new report shows that books, music, television and film sectors of New Zealand’s creative industries annually contribute more than $3.5 billion to the local economy.
By comparison, these components of the creative industries are similar in size to the forestry sector, double the size of the printing sector, and half the size of sheep, beef cattle and grain farming.

The New Zealand Film Commission, NZ On Air and Film New Zealand are pleased to announce they will be working even more closely together in the interests of the New Zealand screen sector.

While the agencies already collaborate on a number of projects, this process is now being formalised under a new ‘virtual agency’ Screen NZ.
